President Muizzu Stands with World Leaders at China’s WWII Victory Commemoration

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today stood alongside world leaders in Beijing at the historic 80th Anniversary Commemoration of the Victory of the Chinese People in the Second World War. The event, held at the iconic Tiananmen Square, was hosted at the invitation of His Excellency Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China.

Presided over by President Xi and China’s top leadership, the grand ceremony showcased the resilience and triumph of the Chinese people while underscoring the global importance of peace and solidarity. Leaders attending the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit 2025 also graced the event, reflecting the shared commitment of nations to strengthen multilateral partnerships.

Following the ceremony, President Xi Jinping hosted a high-level reception at the Great Hall of the People in honor of the distinguished guests. The gathering provided a vital platform for dialogue and reaffirmed China’s growing role in shaping regional and global cooperation.
